In the Summer of 2003 - Metal Icon-Superjoint Ritual vocalist Philip Anselmo hosted a one hour special - "Philip Anselmo's Ball"- which aired right after an episode of the Headbangers Ball. Philip Anselmo's Ball paid  homage to our forefathers of Heavy Metal- it  was a history of metal that included videos of  heavy music's inspiration Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin as well as underground hard core heroes Cromags and Bad Brains.  Now, MTV2 Headabangers ball asked Philip back - this time with his band Superjoint Ritual!

On May 15, Philip Anselmo finally sets the record straight on Pantera.  You won't want to miss this history making episode of Headbangers Ball. This two hour Special Headbangers Ball with hosts Superjoint Ritual will air videos of old school metal greats not too often seen as well videos by the latest metal has to offer.

Watch guitarist Kevin Bond get tattooed by none other than the 'King of Rock Tattoos' - Paul Booth.  Superjoint Ritual invite world class tattooist Paul Booth who Rolling Stone Magazine refer to as " The New King of  Rock Tattoos - - known for his macabre, iconoclastic art - which includes ink on Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Cradle of Filth, Satyricon, From Autumn To Ashes, Soulfly, Sevendust, Six feet Under, Def Tones and more. Paul Booth has also designed album art for Deicide, Six Feet Under and Pig Destroyer as well as set design and merchandise for Slayer.

When asked about the MTV2 Headbangers Ball -Jim Bower states, "Headbangers Ball is a great outlet for kids old and young to see what is new, what is happening and to see what is very metal".

"Glad we are on Headbangers Ball instead of -'Where are they now' declares Kevin Bond.

Philip Anselmo commits, "As any person might think I may say something negative (about HBB)... It is actually still a good place for the majority of kids to find heavy metal"!

"They need to play more metal; it's about time Headbangers Ball came back. It needs to be six hours long a day not once a week" laments Hank Williams III.

Joe Fazzio  exclaims,  "I am ecstatic that there is an  outlet  for  heavy  music - its cool that bands  can  be  underground  and  still be on  MTV2 - you can  still be  watched by  millions  and  be  underground  so---  HAIL!
